Interstate 40, take the Marion exit. Travel Hwy.
226 from
Marion, through Spruce Pine to
Bakersville. From Marion, travel up the mountain to
Grassy
Creek. At the top of the mountain, turn right under
the
Blue Ridge Parkway. You will pass Wal-Mart, Kentucky Fried
Chicken & McDonald's. At the next intersection, turn
left
onto Hwy. 19E. Go app. 3/4 mile, turn right toward
Bakersville.
Travel 11 miles to Bakersville. From Bakersville,
take Hwy.
261 North, 6 miles, to Glen Ayre. Turn right onto Green Creek
Rd.
Turn right again before crossing the first bridge.
Travel
down the creek to the campground. |
